N-POWER VOLUNTEER CORPS
The N-Power Volunteer Corps is the post-tertiary engagement initiative for Nigerians between 18 and 35. It is a paid volunteering programme of a 2-year duration. The graduates will undertake their primary tasks in identified public services within their proximate communities.

All N-Power Volunteers are entitled to computing devices that will contain information necessary for their specific engagement, as well as information for their continuous training and development.

In 2016, the Federal Government engaged 200,000 N-Power Volunteers. In 2017, the Federal Government is enlisting 300,000 more. The June 2017 Application is only open to the Graduate Category- the N-Power Volunteer Corps.

N-Power volunteers will provide teaching, instructional, and advisory solutions in 4 key areas.

University of Cape Town International and Refugee Students Scholarships for Masters and PhD Study in South Africa

Scholarship Description 
Various categories of funding provide support towards the cost of study at University of Cape Town (UCT) for students who will register for Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees. The UCT offers a limited number of scholarships, available to non-South African graduates who are residents of countries other than South Africa.

All UCT International and Refugee Students' Scholarships are supplementary. Students who apply must have the means to fund their studies. The scholarships are renewable for the duration of the course of study, if satisfactory progress is maintained, for one year at honours level, two at master's level and three at doctoral level.

Applications are invited for the International and Refugee Students’ Scholarships from full time Honours, Masters and Doctoral Students.



Eligibility
Funding is available for refugees in South Africa. The Scholarships awarded on a yearly basis. The country of origin is irrelevant, but proof of Refugee status is required.

Funding is available for postgraduate studies only. The bursaries are awarded on a yearly basis. The country of origin is irrelevant.

The International & Refugee Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis with emphasis given to academic merit and to the seniority of candidates.

Also note:
To qualify for postgraduate funding, intending postgraduate students must first formally apply for an academic place at UCT. Only students registering for Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees are eligible.

Students who register for postgraduate diplomas and certificates, the BArch, the LLB, or for the Undergraduate 4th year of any Bachelors degree are not eligible for UCT's postgraduate awards, and are referred to the Student Financial Aid Office. Students who intend to study for a second degree at the same level as one they already hold, (e.g., a second Honours degree) are also not eligible for funding.

It is important to note that the University is not able to provide full-cost funding to postgraduate students. Scholarships and bursaries awarded will contribute towards the cost of study and applicants are advised to secure additional support.

About the Award:  Visiting research fellows use their time in Leiden for data analysis and/or writing, often on a joint project with one or more ASCL staff members and with Africanists at other institutes or faculties of Leiden University. Apart from the regular visiting research fellowship programme, the ASCL also offers a joint fellowship programme with the IIAS (International Institute for Asian Studies). Eligibility:

At the time of applying, the applicant must hold a PhD with a focus on Africa.
The applicant has to be fluent in English and/or French.
The applicant must have an active academic career.
The applicant must have recently published books and/or articles that meet international standards (at least three published articles in the past five years).
The research fellowship must contribute to interfaculty collaboration at Leiden University.
Preference is given to candidates employed by an African research institute with which Leiden University already has an MoU or aspires to have an MoU in the framework of the Leiden African Studies Assembly.
In accordance with visa regulations, applicants must be able to return to their country of origin after their fellowship.

Value of Fellowship: A research fellowship includes:

A return ticket (economy class).
A daily stipend to cover living expenses.
